This and That

Elder Hamblin is from Roosevelt, UT

Elder Hamblin arrived in the middle of the transfer by himself.  We are thrilled to have him. His trainer, Elder Fitzpatrick, met him at the airport with us.  They are going to Akita. Our wonderful office staff and AP's also came to greet him off the plane.

Elder Yamamoto decided to go home early.

Sister Richins also went home.

We ate at Kappa Sushi the evening before they left the mission with the AP's.

Beautiful Sister Richins at the Sendai airport.

Elder Larsen also went home this month.

At the airport with the Assistants

While we were waiting for Elder Larsen to check his luggage, we spoke to this family.  The Mom holding the baby and her Father (on the R) are members of the church who live in Rexburg, ID.  They, of course, knew who we were from our name tags.  The Grandma and cousin (middle) are not members but were very nice to talk to.  It was interesting that 4 members of the church were catching the same plane on a random Tuesday in Sendai, Japan.

The Wrights have finished their 6 month mission and returned home.
We loved them and appreciated all they did for the Furukawa Branch.

Elder Iida always has a smile on his face!

I baked this cake for our AP, Elder Takase, for his birthday.

Elder Kim, Elder Anderson and Elder Thompson greeted us
when we arrived at the church.  Funny Elders!!

After interviews in Kitakami, we went to lunch with these Elders.

Brother Shin'no from Koriyama got married in the Temple. We were invited to their wedding reception where I was asked to sing Where Love Is (in Japanese).  It was a lovely occasion.

This sweet baby boy was born to the Murakami couple in Hirosaki.  When he was 10 days old, his Mom had a stroke which left her unable to care for him.  He has been placed in a care center for babies for now.  His Father wrote to us and told us about what happened and asked that we pray for his wife and new son.  All of our children and grandchildren participated in praying for this family.  We stopped in to see them when we were in the area.  She is still not well but better than she was.  They go to see the baby every week but cannot care for him on their own yet. Sister Murakami is waiting for a brain surgery that will probably be done in February 2014.
