Shinji and Rika Inagi Visit Us in Sendai

Gary, Shinji and Sakura.  We were thrilled when we knew the Inagi family was coming to Sendai and would be staying with us for a couple of days.  They were so much help to us as we were preparing to come to Japan 3 years ago.  It was wonderful to see them again now they have moved back to Japan from Tucson.  We ate the first night at Kappa Sushi.

Rika, Aili & Pam

The first morning it snowed enough to make a snowman at the park.
Sakura was thrilled since they don't get snow in Nagoya

On  Saturday evening we ate dinner at the home of the Stake Patriarch and his wife.  They had all of their family visiting them so it was quite a houe full of people and children.  A knock at the door were Sister Orgill and Bellows who came to sing to them because they were in the neighborhood.  It was very cold and they came in and ate with us and sang before they left to go dendo again.  Every adult in the room was a returned missionary and was very impressed with them for not wasting time even though it was very cold outside.

Christmas Eve with Furukawas

Brother and Sister Furukawa spent Christmas Eve with us at the
Mexican Restaurant where we spent Thanksgiving.
They loved the food and we had a lovely evening together.

After dinner, they took us to this home in Sendai that had thousands
of lights displayed in front. It was quite amazing because we had
never seen anything like this in Japan.

Christmas Weekend in Misawa

We went to Misawa for the Sunday before Christmas.  The Branch had their Christmas party on Saturday night full of great food and a nice program.  The Elders and youth sang some carols which was very nicely done.

We ate by the Housekenecht family who have become dear friends.
They will soon move back to the US~Texas to live.

This good brother was baptised several months ago
and is now in the Branch Presidency.
I was so proud of Elder Breinholt. (far left)  He sang with this quartet of men
in the Misawa Military Ward in their Sacrament Meeting.  It was really outstanding.
