Sakura Blooming in Sendai (April)

The end of April is the season for Sakura to bloom in the Sendai area.  In anticipation of that, we begin to see these colorful "fake" sakura attached to the poles along the side of the streets.

The Kitchen Garden store is down the street from our house and we pass it almost every day.
I have no idea what is sold in the store~maybe herbs to plant.
They also had decorated poles outside their store.

Flowers are popping up in every planter box along the roads.  Beautiful!

These are Sakura Trees planted along the roadway in Yamagata.  The picture doesn't do
them justice but they are a light pink color and absolutely beautiful.

The blossoms were beginning to fall off the trees
which made a blanket of pink peddles on the ground.

We look forward to Sakura because it means spring is here!!
