Misawa Weekend Visit in April

After church, the branch provided a lovely potluck lunch for everyone.

Elder Whhittle and Elder McClellan serve in Misawa.

The Branch!

Monday morning was Preparation Day and we took all the missionaries  to see this famous Tomb of Christ outside Aomori.  The tradition says that at the last moment, Christ's twin brother took his place on the cross.  Christ traveled across Russia and came to Japan where he lived the rest of his life.  He married and had two daughters, became a rice farmer and died at age 106.  We had to see what this strange traditiion was in a land that is not Christian.

Our 4 Elders, their investigator and a pre-mission young man from the Branch came with us.

Sign on the side of the road telling us where to go to see the tomb.

English description of the story.

The Housekenecht family from Misawa drove themselves and met us there.

We went for a walk in the area and found this beautiful little stream that was running quite swiftly.  We all found a stick that we could identify as our own and threw them into the water at once and had a race to see whos stick was fastest.  It didn't take much to entertain ourselves but it was lots of fun.

  1. What a strange story about Christ!! But fun that you all went to it. Glad that you take a few minutes to "play" every once in a while.
