February FHE

Elder Thomas giving instructions for the activity. Since we have had an Apostle with us, the game was "How well do you know the Apostles."
They had to guess how many children each apostle had.

They had to name the Apostles.
How old were they when they were called to be an Apostle. (That was hard)
Small groups of 6 or 7 worked together to come up with the answers.
Watanabe San came to FHE again this month. The Sister Missionaries continue to teach her the gospel. She was thrilled with the Girl's Day display so we took this picture with the sister missionaries and another little girl who came.
Sister Inoue (L) and Asato (R) brought this cute girl and her mom to FHE.
Mingliang is a youn man Gary and I met when we were getting our driver's license. He has been listening to the lessons for two weeks with the Elders. They have been teaching him in our home. He is a college student and a very nice, happy young adult from China.
Refreshments for 50. Sponge cake with white chocolate cream topping made by Sis Jahana.

This picture was not FHE. The Zone Leaders from Niigata came to Sendai to do splits with the AP's and were spending the night. At the end of the night, before they went to bed, Gary and I invited them (and the Nagamachi Elders who also live in the apartment above the office with the AP's) over to our house for hot chocolate and donuts. Gary had read in a letter from Elder Shaw that he had received a Dear John letter from his girlfriend after 21 months. Besides, it was snowing and cold so we thought a little TLC from us would be appreciated. We had a fun 30 minutes with them.

  1. I love the FHE idea! So sad about the Dear John Elder. You guys are the best for having them all over for a little snack before bed!
