A Busy Weekend in November

Baptism in Morioka. Sis.Fatoma has been an investigator for many years and she finally was baptised. She loves the gospel and is not afraid to share it with all of her friends. One of her friends has been baptised already.

I suggested she smile for the picture. Her version of smiling is not with your mouth but by putting your hands around your face. She was smiling BIG!!

The next day we drove to Odate for the Branch Sharing Night. (Talent show, sort of) Elder Ishida and Elder Dowdy are doing a great job in the Branch and were very entertaining all night. 9 of us attended including the missionaries, Branch President and his wife and Gary and me. I could see the evening would be over in 10 short minutes but was I ever wrong. Two hours later, we finished after laughing and enjoying ourselves.

Elder Ishida demonstrated Poi Balls and is very good at it. He is a quiet Elder and I was pleasantly surprised with his talent.
Elder Dowdy solicited help with his magic card trick. He is also a quiet, mild-mannered Elder but he really knew how to work the "crowd" this night. So funny!
Branch President Domon sang with his guitar. He has a wonderful singing voice.
Another crowd pleaser as Elder Dowdy magically lost a leg when he lifted his coat up. He is hilarious!!
This brother in the Branch did an old style Karioke song.
Elder Dowdy and his magic counting fingers. So funny!!

The next day after church, we drove from Odate up north to Kooriyama down south where Gary set apart this missionary Elder Kuwahara.
